Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa is excited to present Art in The Garden. This new installation features local art all throughout our lush 10 acres of greenery and gardens. From murals to horse statues and to canvas, get inspired when you tour Art in The Garden this summer.
Channin Fulton
“You’re So Golden”
Channin Fulton mural is titled, “You’re so Golden” and inspired by handcrafted Mexican Talavera tile motifs, this mural celebrates the balance and harmony of nature wrapped around a centralized sunny message: “You’re so Golden”. It features stylized poppies, lupine, and sunflowers native to California.
Channin is a California based illustrator with a knack for mural painting, lettering, and other playful curiosities. A huge inspiration for Channin is the environment around her; she brings a “California vibe” into her work through bold shape and vibrant color
Billy Pease
Hacienda Horizon, Rosé on the Beach & More
Billy Pease will be showcasing four canvas art in the hallway near Greenfinch Restaurant & Bar. His four art installations include: Hacienda Horizon, La Jolla Left, Rosé on the Beach, and Sunset Dreams on the Sand.
Billy is a coastal contemporary artist based out of Solana Beach, California. He draws his inspiration from decades of traveling to distant lands doing what he loves most: surfing. Billy specializes in creating calming art that soothes the soul. With his use of pastels and neutral color palettes and a combination of mediums including gouache, acrylic, gold leaf, and resin, he pulls the viewer into a soft dreamscape.
Phoebe Nelson
Monarch Moment
Phoebe’s mural is a vibrant blend of abstract and collage-style elements, designed to infuse warmth and energy into a once-neutral corner of the property. Inspired by the monarch butterflies that call the hotel grounds home, the piece celebrates their beauty, movement, and symbolism of transformation. With a mosaic-like composition of rich colors and layered shapes, the mural creates a dynamic yet visually engaging experience.
A San Diego-based artist with a background in graphic design, Phoebe is known for her bold, graphic aesthetic. Her murals embrace color, texture, and nature, transforming everyday spaces into captivating works of art. This piece at Estancia invites guests to pause, take in the artistry, and appreciate the vibrant life that flourishes in this special place.
Shannen Mythen
Essene of Earth
Shannen’s mural is inspired by the lush landscape of Estancia. She is flourishing and blooming along with her surroundings. Radiating abundance, healing and growth to all that pass her path with a nurturing presence bringing to mind Mother Nature.
Shannen Mythen is an Irish artist based in San Diego, whose work beautifully blends Ireland’s Celtic energy with California’s spiritual light. Through her art, she aims to create a sense of serenity and joy, inviting viewers to pause, take a deep breath, and embrace the present moment.
